Up and Running

Hello Amelia families! I am happy to say that the blog is finally up and running. I hope that this will provide insight as to what is happening in our classroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through e-mail macfarland_b@westcler.org. For the week of December 2nd... Literacy: We are starting a new unit in literacy this week. This unit will focus on fiction, and nonfiction text that address patterns in nature. Our first reading is a short biography of the British meteorologist named Luke Howard. While reading this text we will focus on the skill of reading, and understanding graphic sources. Math: We are working hard at learning all the different strategies that can help us when dividing. Our goal is to become proficient in long division. I am really impressed with how well everyone has been doing in class. :) Science: We will continue our discussion and exploration of electricity. This week we will be switching (homeroom) for our four week social studies rotation. Other: Library day is Tuesday. Interim reports "went home" last Tuesday. Remember, we are no longer printing reports. You can check your student's progress by logging on to ProgressBook. Let me know if you need any help with this. Take care, Mr. MacFarland
